Sessions are held either in our Sarnia office or virtually through a secure video platform. Each session typically lasts 50 minutes, with options for extended sessions if arranged in advance.

Our practice has a 24-hour cancellation policy. Any session missed or cancelled without 24 hours of notice will be charged the full session fee.

Yes, many extended health benefit plans cover services with a Registered Psychotherapist. After payment, we provide a detailed receipt that you can submit to your insurance plan for reimbursement. Please check with your provider to determine your coverage. If you do not have benefits, sessions can typically be claimed on your taxes.

Direct billing is offered for select insurance plans. Specifically, Greenshield, Medavie, BlueCross, WSIB, NHIB, Veterans Affairs. We are always adding to our direct bill list - inquire about your plan!

A student intern in psychotherapy is a graduate student pursuing a degree in psychology and gaining practical experience as part of their educational program. They are at the end of their master's degree and are working on clinical experience before graduating. Interns work under the close supervision of licensed and experienced therapists to ensure high-quality care. They often conduct assessments, provide therapy sessions, and participate in case consultations. Working with a student intern can be beneficial as they bring fresh perspectives and innovative approaches to therapy. Additionally, because their work is supervised, clients receive the combined expertise of both the intern and the licensed supervisor. Seeing a student intern also offers reduced rates, making therapy more accessible for those with financial barriers.

Therapy intensives are extended sessions designed to help you focus deeply on specific challenges in a concentrated period of time. Instead of spreading therapy out over weeks or months, intensives allow you to do meaningful work in a few focused hours or days, helping you move through stuck patterns more quickly.

The length of an intensive can vary depending on your needs—they may range from a 3-hour session to multiple full days. Costs depend on the duration and therapist, and will be discussed during your consultation so you have a clear understanding of your options before committing.

Yes, your information is kept confidential. We take all necessary steps to protect your privacy. However, there are certain situations where we may need to share information: if there is a belief that a child or vulnerable adult is being abused or neglected, if you are at imminent risk of harming yourself or others, if another registered health professional has sexually abused, assaulted, or harassed a patient, or if records are subpoenaed by legal proceedings. Additionally, student interns are supervised, so records are shared between the supervisor and supervisee.

Sessions with Brianna King, RP are $180 per 50-minute session. Couple's therapy fees vary based on therapist.

Receipts are provided as soon as payment is received, and you may submit receipts for reimbursement to your insurance company if applicable. ​

Payment is expected at the time of service and can be made by cash, cheque, or e-transfer. A fee of $30 will be charged for each cheque that is returned because of insufficient funds.

We understand that cost for therapy can be a barrier. As such, interns offer sliding scale fees on a case-by-case basis. Please reach out to inquire about what options are available!
