THERAPY IN SARNIA-LAMBTON | VIRTUAL ACROSS ONTARIO

Chris Saxby, Registered Nurse,
MSW
Are you looking to find peace in your life? Amid all the messaging we get from outside sources, including the media, our family and friends, and our own incessantly chattering minds, we often lose sight of what’s real; of what’s true for us. Therapy, to me, is about returning to ground. It’s about seeing how far we’ve strayed from our centre and journeying back to our psychological home, finding peace, seeing ourselves accurately, and truly loving ourselves in the process.
Using a holistic perspective garnered from my educational and clinical experience, I try to get to the best understanding of you and help you reach your goals. It's my hope that you come away from therapy understanding more about who you are, what drives you, where you want to go, and how to get there. By making small, incremental changes to how you think, feel about, and respond to the world (yourself included), over time, you can enact big changes in how you operate on every level, leading you to feel more connected to yourself, others, and the Universe.

Chris holds degrees in Psychology, Nursing, and Social Work, making him a truly holistic practitioner, seeing people as complex bio-psycho-social-spiritual beings.
As an RN, Chris worked at several hospitals in Emergency Departments (EDs) and Intensive Care Units (ICUs). He has also been the Director and Assistant Director of a couple Ontario Long-Term Care Homes.
As a Masters-trained Social Worker, Chris has run homes for people with Developmental Conditions, worked within the Justice System, and engaged in psychotherapeutic counselling at various locations, including Daya, the Canadian Mental Health Association (CMHA), and King’s University College Student Counselling.Outside of work, you can find me spending lots of time with my daughter, playing with her dog (named Tuna) and watching scary movies – perhaps our favourite pastime. I love to travel (I’ve been to about 25 countries, mostly in Europe and Asia) and I lived in South Korea for a year (where I learned to read and write Korean).

Trauma therapy at Blue Coast Psychotherapy can help you process past experiences and move forward.
TRAUMA CAN SHOW UP AS:
Persistent low mood, a feeling of heaviness, or a lack of enjoyment in things that used to bring you joy?
Flashbacks or intrusive memories
Nightmares or disturbed sleep
Hypervigilance or feeling “on edge”
Difficulty trusting others or feeling safe
Numbness, detachment, or avoidance
Anxiety, depression, or irritability
Trouble concentrating or remembering things
Feeling overwhelmed, exhausted, and disconnected from yourself or others?
Do you feel stuck in the effects of trauma? Are previous experiences making it hard to feel safe, connected, or at peace?
Trauma can leave lasting imprints on both the mind and body, shaping how you see yourself, others, and the world around you. You may notice it in the form of anxiety, sleepless nights, feeling constantly on edge, or a deep sense of disconnection. At Blue Coast Psychotherapy, we understand that healing from trauma isn’t about erasing the past—it’s about gently creating space for safety, resilience, and reconnection. Through compassionate, trauma-informed care, we support you in processing painful experiences and moving toward a life where calm, balance, and wholeness feel possible again.
